I have tried to pick films from all eras though it’s obvious that I’m a child of the 60’s & 70’s because 17 of the movies come from at least as late as the 1960’s. I am young enough that I didn’t get to see the 60’s movies and many of the 70’s movies when they were first released but experienced them later on TV, or video or even DVD. It is too my everlasting sorrow that I only first saw 9 of the films when they were released at the theater-those were the ones beginning in 1980. The remaining 8 made before 1960 are all jewels. I suppose that I’m not as familiar with the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s American cinema, but the few that changed my life are brilliant movies.

I regret that there is only one horror movie listed because I love horror movies-it’s just that I hate bad ones and most of them are very bad. Only two Westerns though those two are maybe the greatest movies ever made. 18 that I classify as dramas although they all have comic, mystery and adventure elements in them.

You can see that I love Scorsese, Wilder, Coppola, and Spielberg. I am sorry that I only had room for one film by Kubrick, Arthur Penn, Peckinpah, David Lean, Polanski, and Howard Hawks. I believe that Tarantino and Paul Thomas Anderson will continue to make great movies. I guess it’s obvious that as much as I like the other directors Hitchcock has to be my favorite, or at least the one that I respect the most. He is likely the greatest director who ever lived in my opinion.

1. DIRTY HARRY 1972

2. THE GODFATHER 1972
"What is it with men and The Godfather?" wonders chick-flick princess Meg Ryan in You’ve Got Mail. Tom Hanks responds for us all: "It is the I Ching. It is the sum of all wisdom." Francis Ford Coppola’s mob opera is the modern guy’s indispensable guide to surviving with honor in a dog-eat-dog world.
Key Scene: How can anyone choose? The horse head in the bed? Sonny’s murder? Michael shooting the cop in the restaurant? We know every one backward and forward.
Best Line: "Don’t ever take sides with anybody against the family again." "I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse." "Leave the gun; take the cannolis." There are millions of them.

3. SCARFACE 1983
An unapologetic assault on everything decent and honorable — and that’s why we love it. Al Pacino’s Tony Montana makes his Michael Corleone look and sound like Mr. Rogers. Nothing beats the film’s coke-fueled mobster wisdom. Lines like: "First you gotta make the money… then you get the power, then you get the woman" set the tone for a whole generation of gangsta rappers.
Key Scene: One word: chainsaw.
Best Line: "Say hello to my leetle friend."

4. DIE HARD 1988
Forget all the great action scenes this film has — the best moments are when underdog Bruce Willis kicks the snobby Eurotrash villains’ asses without ever losing his all-American sense of humor. The scene where the German villain gets his comeuppance for trying to use the word "cowboy" as an insult resonates more today, though it’d be even better if the guy were French.
Key Scene: Bruce crashes through the window hanging from the firehose.
Best Line: "Yippee-kai-yay, motherf–ker!"

5. THE TERMINATOR 1984
Arnold Schwarzenegger was originally offered the human lead, but he realized that a killer robot from the future was the role he was really born to play. "There is a little bit of the Terminator in everybody," director James Cameron observed. "He operates completely outside all the built-in social constraints."
Key Scene: Any qualms about rooting for a malevolent robot vanish when he vaporizes a tacky L.A. dance club.
Best Line: "I’ll be back."

Is this prolouge and start of my first chapter good?
I am a 13 year old girl and I am writing a fantasy/mystery story. It will be in 1st person and will have 2 main characters who will have a chapter each. This is my first draft. Here is the prologue and the start of the first chapter, can you give me your opinion on it please? Sorry for bad grammar it’s not my strong point. Thanks x

"So, will you do it or not?" Dave asked, his eyes were boring into me. I didn’t know what to do, me and my wife, Grace had been having money problems lately and this could solve everything. But it’s against the law my better judgement told me. I took a big breath.
"How much?"
"You won’t get your money until you have done what I ask, but it will be a lot. At least 2,000 dollars."
I let out a big breathful of air, that amount of money could solve all of our problems and more. Dave knew I needed the money that’s why he was asking me to do his dirty work. Dave was my boss, one of the richest men in Ohio, you could tell by looking at him. He was clean cut with his dark brown hair gelled back from his eyes, he was wearing a suit that probably cost the same amount of money as my car. His office was exactly the same, there was a window at the far end of the large room that took up the full wall and looked over onto the streets below, he had a large mahogany desk piled high with paper work and a sleek black laptop sat exactly in the centre of it. I was standing next to a very large potted plant that kept swaying in the breeze coming through the open window.
"Okay." I sighed "I’ll do it, but just this one time, if you ask me again I’ll say no."
Dave grinned showing of his dazzling white teeth, "You have made a very good decision Ryan, but if you betray me you’ll be sorry."
The venom of his words sent a shiver up my spine.
"Your free to go, and I wan you to work late tonight to make up the time you have lost talking to me."
My hand was twitching, ready to puch him, but I managed to make my feet move and slowly walk out of the room.

Chapter 1 - Ryan

Ding Dong. The sound of the doorbell made me jump, the house was eerily quiet and it was unusual, Grace was away at a job interview so I was on my own. l got up and went to the front door, I could see a tall and lean sillouete through the frosted glass window on the door. I peeped through spy hole and froze, it was Dave, oh god he was ment to be coming tomorro, I had everything planned out. When Grace came home I was going to tell her that we were going on holiday, of coarse we wouldn’t be it was a plan to get away form Dave. He rang the doorbell again repeatedly, he was getting mad
"Open the door Ryan, I know your in there."
I felt physically sick with fear, he was going to kill me I could see it in his eyes. Grace, was the only thought in my mind as I ran into the kitchen pulling open doors and cupboards, I had to write her a letter saying how sorry I was and giving her instructions. I eventually found a pen and started writing frantically. Grace, I was going to miss her so much, I went back to the front door. I am so sorry Grace I whispered before opening the door. Dave was standing on the doorstep, he was mad.
"Were have you been?" He spat.
"Sorry. I was in the shower."
"You know I don’t like waiting." He brung up his fist and slammed it into my face, I wasn’t expecting it, my nose burst open and blood spaterred all over the door. Dave went inside his jacket and brought out a small gun, I couldn’t draw my eyes away from it as he brought to my forehead and pushed me inside. I gulped and walked back slowly.
"You betrayed me Ryan, and you know what happens to people who betray me."
There was a bang and I felt excrucitating pain as the bullet entered my left temple.

Please work on your spelling and grammar! It is so hard to read and get where a story is going when half the reading time is spent deciphering what a word/phrase is supposed to actually be.
It does make me wonder, though, about the rest of the story, and that is what a writer needs to do- keep the reader reading.
Clean up the spelling, fix some grammatical errors (ex: ‘I know you’re in there’, not your; ‘brought’ not brung; and again, "you’re free to go’ not ‘your’- and those are just a few examples…)

Great start!
I admire you, the first chapter can be one of the hardest parts to write!

To make it better I would add more description, like how people move and speak.
e.g. ‘I ran quickly’ or ‘I ran like a cat’ or ‘he said coldly’
Also, the onomatopoeia ‘Ding Dong’ doesn’t really need to be there. You could just start with ‘The sound of the doorbell….’

Also, ‘brought’ not ‘brung’

Getting back together with my ex - is he being cautious or just kidding us both?
I split with my partner in August last year. He left me saying he was confused and subsequently spent a couple of months keeping me in suspense while he made his mind up. what can i do about demons possession?
im worried. my sister is demonic. she has demons inhabiting her. all of her actions represent an angry male demon. she is very angry all the time and does things that are strong signs of possession. she also has unusual abilities now like the ability to predict a tradgedy or death in the world and she smiles and brags about it and smiles and laughs when it happens. she smirks all the time
shes a tyrant, she runs around trying to beat me and be violent to me and curse and spit at me. i tell her i love her or that god loves her and that incited more violence. she comes after me, she manioulates me and curses me and screams about feces and hurtful very hateful things to me. very angry things
she says the worst and most hurtful things to me to a point i end up in tears, showing her how week i am
she makes me very nervous, if i even walk past her she tries to beat me
this is an adult young woman who is nearly 20 yrs old
but shes certainly possessed, her eyes glowed and she cornered me into a room and i told her she could not physically attack me so 1 minute later a ghost attacked me in the room while she cornered me and stared at me nonstop and kept this evil gaze. i was shoved by a force and physically attacked by something not seen ( a ghost) but it pushed me heavily that i landed on the floor after sliding backwards when it pushed me)
the only thing that helped sofar was salt. i put salt on the floor of a room during her violent attack episode and she refused to enter the room past the salt line at the entrance of the room
ive had some divine intervention but sofar nothing i used to help the situation
but she got very scared when she saw god communicating with me through divine intervention, that got her to stop for a short while, for part of the day when she was being violent.

she claims she wants to be god, she says she makes things happen such as the tradgedies in the world. she says she hates god. she comes up to me and tells me personal info about me like my deep thoughts, nightmares i had and parts of conversation i have with others. for example i was talking about her the other day and saying a certain thing about her in an email online. she does not go to my computer or know my new email adress.
so today she starts angrily taunting me with exactly what i said word for word

she tells me she has claws, she says shes demonic and she draws demon seals.i didnt see any claws but she makes false claims about that. her nails looked like regular human nails, certainly not claws

also she does something strange with her eyes, she has them turn colors and black and glow
i know that last part sounds odd and non medically explainable but it happened and demons do stuff like this, they defy medical explanations

such as the case in 2008 where a possessed woman levitated

anyways im an adult and shes an adult

how do i stay safe and develope a good plan and damped the symptoms she has. how do i make her more calm and under control. shes wildly out of control now and very pushy, agressive, mean and all over the place. energetic and very angry

my plan is to lessen her symptoms, have her be calm and have some consciouse or something or have her act half human atleast by not being violent anymore and then think of a plan how to end this.. theres a few routes to take

but right now shes not verbal without talking about demons or telling me to die, and she does not act normal, she is violent every time she sees me 24/7 shes always overactive and energetic full of anger and ready to strike me and trying to harm

she talks to others and they dont care,i asked other family members about this and they give me some cowardly answer such as oh its just a phaze or they are just nervous, or they must be psychic but they dont think its their place to help or care, they ignore it. which is odd
anyhow but i care. they witnessed her violence and odd behaviors but they dont care or want to help. they make excuses saying oh well and they ignore her or ignore what they witnessed and move on

are there steps i can take to calm her down, make her less evil, make her stop hitting me, untill i can find out why this happened and what the solution to an end for this is

i am looking to change her personality(against her will, since she does not want to change, she thinks running around wildly like a madman and telling people to die and beating her sister daily is fine with her) shes not ok.. i need to change her so that shes calm and stops trying to harm others and focuses on her own trouble or on wanting good for others wellbeing
how do i get her to calm and stop being violent

i know it satan or the devil acting and speaking within her… should i stand up to it or will this thing destroy me or kill me?
should i run like a coward and hide from the devils violence?
whatever the thing is seems to be happy that im choosing flee, like ive been ignoring her hoping the violence against me will stop. and
she talks bad about me when im not there, i overheard on the steps when i was listening,. she was putting me down and bashing me to others
